Binks Bullows Hydrovane PR303E

Collecting tonight. Pretty and unusual little thing.
Needs a bit of TLC.
Does anyone have any info on it, apparently Hydrovane (can't help, I think it's too old, or they didn't do final assembly).
Having searched, the instructions are not available online.
This is in full working order.
Buying it because, I think it'll make an instant blow-gun, and it's listed with other things the guy is selling, so to make the trip more economical as I originally wanted and agreed a bundled price with this.

I have a similar Binks Bullows "Hydrovane" compressor powered by a Villiers two-stroke engine. The person I bought it from, at a carboot sale, said they used to be used to inflate tyres on Spitfires .....??

Unlikely to have been used on Spitfires as Binks didn't acquire Bullows until 1967...

Hi, Newby here but saw your post. This superb little compressor was used in combination with a constant bleed spray gun. So in other words the air is constantly coming out of the gun.
I had one some years ago and it worked great, probably not much use with modern spray gun systems.
Hope this is of some use.

Got it, will do a cleaning and change oil, before doing much else.
Don't like the fins and legs painted, so they'll be stripped and left naked.
Couple of bent bits that need straightening.

Either the same or similar that GPO/BT used to use for pressurisation of underground main cables. Pressure in the cable sheath kept the water out in case of leaks or damage. The compressors used to run at about 30 psi from memory & used to run 24 hours a day for years on end.
