But that then means you have to carry around two or three heavy locks.
The best type of bike stand if you don't want any risk of bikes going missing is a concrete filled Sheffield concreted into the ground. I've seen normal Sheffield stands cut through then the bikes taken out which is why I say to fill them with concrete. It's quite surprising what a thief can get away with doing without anyone confronting you.
The bike stands Brenweld has built are great if you can guarantee that the only people able to get to the bikes are the people who own the bikes and completely trustworthy people. A friend recently had his bike stolen from a room which was behind a 5lever locked door and and then past a keypad locked door. They then took boltcroppers to the bike racks and somehow walked out of the building with 6 bikes.
What ever security measure you put in place will be circumvented if a thief wants your bike. End of story. And at the end of the day brenweld has built a bike STAND not a bike SECURITY DEVICE. Looks pretty good to me anyway, nice and sturdy.
thanks for the comments high nelly clubs are starting here like fire might sell a few to local pubs. i will put plates onto it for bolting down. its easy enough to lock the bike to the bars. its alright for the first one anyway.
