Bike Rack

Hi everyone,firstly can i say what i fantastic site this.This is my first project since joining the forum and as the weather is starting to get a little better i have started to get my motorbike ready for the summer after many years away from bikes.Me and the Dutchess arn't getting any younger so i decided to make a backrest using the rack that i made about 14 years ago.I used 25/3mm stainless bar and welded it together with my 25year old Cebora stick welder and 2.5mm stainless rods(i was suprised how easy it welded).I have tried to follow the lines of the original sissy bar but i may be a bit out but i think it will look ok when the back pad is fitted.It's only a simple design but i an quite pleased with the finished result,any suggestions please let me know.

I took a tubular one off my niece's Bonneville to fit a carrier and was surprised to see a sticker on it which said "Not to be used as a backrest" Has your V max still got all it's gears ? A friend of mine has lost 3rd on his.

As for as i am aware every thing works as it should.I phoned the guy who had it before me and he assured me it was in proper woking order,he only stopped using it do to health problems,anyhow i have enough parts to make good any faults.

I was thinking is that V max.
I would love a go on one of these psychodinosaur bikes, cobblers to the new version. I like the idea of a barely tamed monster rather than a trained one.
I remember in Paris late 80's seeing all the nutters wheelying v maxes around the Arc De Triumph. Loved it.
A proper mad bastard motorcycle.
