I've been asked to fettle this.
The slip flanges are creeping past the formed collar, because it's so worn and deformed. So the zorst won't clamp up to the engine properly.
In the 3rd pic, the flange isn't supposed to pass over the collar at all.
My two initial ideas were either:
1. Chop off the collars and weld new machined ones on. Alignment off the bike might be tricky.
2. Build up the collar with weld and grind back to suit. Preferred option, but now I see the collars, they aren't solid like I thought they would be, they're cheap swaged items, so a little tricky to build up.
Anyone got any good ideas? it's from an older XJ600 and the owner says new exhausts are a bit hard to get hold of.
