I would like to know what would be the best welder and obviously the cheapest Welder and the right Welder too for all bike building: Hardtailing a Frame, Building a Frame mainly!
Welcome to the forum and yes having the ability to weld your projects yourself will add a whole new element to the fun.
I think you need to provide some more info, the cheapest welder is never the best welder.
Budget?
Maximum thickness requirements etc etc.
Have a browse of the forum and tutorials, read what others think of what they have or what tends to be the favourable models, once you 'think' you know what will suit you and is within your budget others will be happy to give their opinions and advice
Welcome......
I plan on welding up a bike jig and the frame itself with my cheapo chinese knock off mig "130A" gas / no gas welder. I am on flux core now but will go to CO2 soon hopefully. I have read a bit about this and the general consensus is to tig weld everything, not only does it look better but you have better heat management (I dont have a tig welder so do your own homework). Tig can also do aluminum...
It is apparently possible to mig weld a bike frame but it is all dependent on thickness and material, I will probably try 2 mm steel tube and go from there. I have practiced successfully on a chopped up discarded bike frame. Right now I am looking at the best way to miter the ends of the tubes.
no such thing as a cheap welder, you pay for what you get. A fleabay tig welder is about 250 -300 euros..... Mig welders are cheaper.
just my 2c.
