evening all...
I am mulling over the idea of building a recumbent trike or 2, I was toying with the idea of searching out old bikes to chop up but im not so sure, it could lead to all sorts of different materials in the mix. So I am thinking of ust using mild steel tubing for my first attempt, my question to you is, what size tube should I use, as you may know a rcumbent trike is usually one large tube as the main frame part, so I am thiinking around the 45-50 mm tube, but what wall thickness tube should I use, I obviously want good strength but weight is also an issue. To start with this is a budget restricted project, if I get on with the trike then I would probably build further trikes using better quality tubing and parts, but for starter I just want to use the mild tube and "locally scourced parts" !!!
What do you think ??
Cheers.
