Off topic slightly but reminds me of the story a mate told me about one of his employees. Polish ex-mechanic joined them as a fabricator (trailer fab company).
First day and boss was rushed off his feet, a farmer mate of his shows up and asks could someone pop around to weld a patch over the side of a bucket. So new guy was sent off because it'd keep him occupied for a little bit until things settled down and could get a decent intro.
End of the day, "anyone seen the new guy?". Someone replies saying they don't think he's come back from the bucket job yet. At that moment he walks in. Boss asked what happened? The reply was "bucket ****, built new bucket". Cheapest bucket ever made because being a farmer he wasn't going to pay more than the quick patch job requested.
He's still there and a phoenomenal fabricator but lesson was learnt, never ask him to do a half arsed job. Did a really good job on my new rear cross member for the 110.
