I have been looking at mag drill’s recently this one cropped up in a internet search.

Cheapest one on the market as far as I can see.

Fein cheaper on is around 500 pounds...

The spec looks pretty good for the price.

35mm cutter capacity. 50mm cutting depth.

i can’t see me needing to drill anything bigger.

Looks like the one I have, only difference is that mine has a little high tourqe makita drill on it, older version l assume.

Must have had it 20 years and it's had some abuse, other than new power lead and the occasional adjustment of the slide strips it's been a decent thing.

I been buying Unibor Commando CR35 drills (1000w ish)

£240 ish including VAT.

We only been drilling 16mm holes and they have done allot of work - only killed two now (out of the five we bought).

Get a rotobroach. Very good value and British made. I have the Panther and its brilliant. Much better than the Evo. They also do some cheaper models.

Rotabroach commando is the best value, for me. It's what i "grew up with" and know and like. I've used commandos and panthers, they're basically the same. Element 40s are a little more user friendly, but more expensive.

I like unibor as a brand though, generally pretty decent quality.

Get a rotobroach. Very good value and British made. I have the Panther and its brilliant. Much better than the Evo. They also do some cheaper models.

They aren't actually German made Fein as for slugger in the USA?

Nice to know. I love my rotobroach panther. I always use soluble cutting fluid - not even a hint of smoke/steam when drilling - although I never use it upside down and sideways as many people do

Cutting fluid is a must Or if you run out old gearbox oil

It’s always nice to use on the flat and level. However in my world it gets put in whatever way it will fit

rotabroach have bought everything, basically monopolised the market. Which is a shame because the large unibor drills didn’t really have any competition.
G&j hall were very good too but they’ve bough them as well…

Unibor mag drills are quite different from rotabroach. Definitely not the same with different stickers.
Very good mag drills, both brands though. I'll always be a rotabroach fan because that's what I've got and know, but there's pros and cons to both.

Rotabroach…. What I grew up with….
16 years old, up a ladder leaning against a stanction, broach on shoulder with a trailing 110v lead behind me connected to a geny waiting for a clown to turn the geny off…..
And they were good times…l
