I reckon thats a mounting fixing, the bit that pushes through the rubber hanger.I bet that little pipe still falls off![]()
and could do it “properly” if he could use my mig.
You let him use it?I did a temporary repair on a go kart recently at the track. It was strong enough to get the lad through the day.
I had tag welded it so that it would be easy to clean up and tig it later.
Along came the lad’s relative who was dissatisfied with my job and said he was a welder and could do it “properly” if he could use my mig.
The result was not dissimilar to the top picture.
Knitting with mig, that's a new on on
2" of stick out after each weld? Really? I used to get 1/2" on my old Sip, but if they're welding exhaust pipes they'd not be running very fast.Sorry if I'm being Captain Obvious, but it looks like a bit of scrap they are burning off the extra stick out from the mig on. I have seen it before on photos of earth clamps with production welders. Someone at home might take a pair of side cutters to the unwanted wire stick out, but it is easier to burn it off if you are in a bit of a rush?
No-one is that bad surely, or am I being naive?
