What is anyone using with success?
I'd prefer a rattle can out of laziness, but I can get the gear out (or brush it on) if it comes in a tin.
Not a matt finish, something semi-gloss.
Any techniques I should know about, heat in oven before / after, that sort of thing?
Thanks for any tips.

Ive tried em all, PJ1, Eastwood, VHT, lots, and most recently Simoniz, which did not survive the build phase without marking or rubbing off. Trouble is with most of these high temp paints is the curing directions if find? The old PJ1 stuff used to be the best but they changed the formula a few years back, so now you cannot get it. The modern PJ1 stuff is shizzle. The paints I find are nigh on impossible to achieve true resistance unless you remove absolutely everything that wont melt above 120deg which includes most seals, and completely stripping the cases down and baking in an oven. Sometimes this is not practical. You can tear down a barrel and bake in an oven, and a head most times, but if you want a consistent finish and level of protection then the cases need to be done as well otherwise in my experience the paint cures to a slightly different shade.
