I like to melt metal down and recover the metal for different projects.
Fen Shai lady no longer wants the blobs, for a while.
The down side is I get a lot of ash, semi burunt wood and nails from the pallets mixex in with small to tiny bits of the good metal.
Alloy, brass and copper.
Last night I hatched a plan.
It kinda worked.
I used to use Benghazi burners for fun and when I used to camping with a Land Rover.
So.
Take the base of a pot belly stove, add the ash and the dross from a few burns.
Add a good glug to a healthily slug of liquid fuel. Last night was a mix of diesel, white sprit and meth's(Used) stale petrol. In fact a unhealthy mix of fuel.
Set fire, it will go woof so be careful.
Drink a beer and wait.

The burn is well going well, the base is glowing a dull red. I am standing back as the heat was impressive.

To the right of the flames you can see some red items. That is "Blobs" of steel. Bolts and a fused nails. A poke the poker showed the alloy was beginning to run together.

The results.
2 lumps of almost pure ally. They are about 1Kg in weight. Still some dross in them. But They will be suitable to be run through the alloy smelt in a few days.
