Some purchasing clown in our place removed a whole load of fixings from "bulk" - so you would spec fixings, the rest of the system was set up assuming they were in "bulk" (ie the nut and bolt racks maintained by external suppliers) and so didn't specially order them . . . machines not able to be built . . panic to find someone, anyone, with the correct sized bolts etc.My old company were that bad at penny pinching they decided it was a great idea to count out the fixings sent to site.
Yes they actually paid someone to count out and bag up 10 screws, 10 Rawl plugs, 10 washers etc etc.
The electricians were ALWAYS running out of fixings and complaining about this but it never got sorted.
So they'd have the electricians running around trying to find a wholesaler to buy more fixings and at an increased cost over the counter
The Peter principal was a driving force in that firm
