Bending 12mm steel

Is anyone near Swansea able to help with bending two pieces of 12mm steel plate 45 degree angle?

Bit of a trek from Swansea, piece of cake though.

Look up local fabrication firms, and find one with a decent sized press brake.

last time i had to bend something simalar to that i had to help the press out a bit, ran the 9" down the outside of the bend and put a fairly deep groove in it, then filled it up with weld

that small a bend any fab company with a press break should do it for a pack a digestives (make sure there choccy ones do )

My 8mm to 90 over 840 long needed 136 ton or thereabouts, a lot of press brake tooling is only rated to 80. Good luck in your search.

send it down to where I work, they have a gilly that cuts 12mm 4mtrs long and a pressbrake that does 12mm 4mtrs long, massive bits of kit.

mind its in northants though.

I'm surprised it was so much, according to this chart;

8mm would require about 50 tons per meter, depending on the size of the tooling.

Back to the OP, find someone locally, sending it so people and them sending it back will cost more in shipping.

Nearly any company that does pressing will have at least a 120 ton machine iv folded 15mm over 1.2m at 45degrees in our 150 ton trumpf at ease

Where did 8mm come from
12 in a 120 is about 80-90t/m, so bearing in mind its only 400mm long and only 45degs, theoretically you'd only need 30-40t.... that said, 3/4t machines dont generally come with 120 wide vees.... more in the territory of 150t+ machines...
Limits like 80t/m are more in the eurotool end of the things...

That must be a nice tight fold ...or is that hemming tonnage?
