I've got a few designs for headphone stands and lamp supports, thinking brass was always soft, but on testing with rod there's unnaceptable work-hardening and breakage. I discover now that the most common alloy is CZ121: good for machining but bad for bending. Apparently CZ108 is a bending alloy, but it appears not to be available as flat and rod. Does anyone have any experience in getting bendable brass in these forms?

I've just seen this stuff while searching for something else. Only seems to be 12" lengths.
cz108 brass is readily available in sheet form, up to 3mm thick, which you could get lazer cut into suitable strips, as guilotining from sheet wont be as accurate. CZ106 is more ductile than CZ108 so may be easier to bend than CZ108. the CZ106 has a slightly higher copper content than the cz108 so is less readily available.

Not had to do it for a long time but I remember when I used to buy it tfrom Smith's hey would ask if I wanted hot or cold bending brass. One bent easily when cold and vicky verka.
The Smith's idea is a particularly good one - I just found they have a Redruth office, and ringing that got me a very helpful lady who's taken my details so she can ask their resident metallurgist what they have that would be suitable. They have a number of different types of brass listed...
