I know its expensive glue, not welding have a mini stick welder but not for this nor the right rods or milling flat after.

Ordered a 1kg kit, got a load of m8 - m10 by 15/20mm deep holes to fill on a cast steel table.

The data sheet gives three different working times which depend on temperature.

Which part of Bucks has the 25 degree temperatures that give a 15 minute life?

Keep everything cool and it will have a longer working time.

Save material by filling the lower half of the holes with a grubscrew and then globbing up the remainder with the epoxy.

It does go off quick, Id suggest only mixing small batches. Once hard just like dressing down steel. Make sure itis properly clean before you start.

You coulddothe same with threaded bar, then file flat.

Good to hear, have used JB a lot, not bad but need something better.
On the cost, fag packet comparison on weight, it would cost aprox £120 for a kilo of JB, I'm getting 1 kilo of in date new Belzona for £80 delivered

Thanks for that. This is the table, the larger 8 holes, the threads are chewed up, also pretty filthy, plan to die grind them for a rough finish then clean a lot and torch to sweat out the crap and clean again. Might just do 2-3 holes at a time/mix. The blue circles are new mounting holes needed, one very close to one that needs filling.

Turned down some 13mm bar for a tight fit and put in 2 x 3mm keyways to help with the interference fit and to squidge a bit of Belzona down the sides.



Mixing is 3 to 1 base/solidifier, bit of a pain and tad wasteful using measuring spoons... I made way too much for this, learned from that..
Unlike something like JB weld epoxy which sets like hard plastic, this has more like a stone feeling, wish I had leveled it off a bit more...



I tried 120 grit in a palm sander which it laughed at, so went to zircona 40 grit pads which removed the excess to flat.




It's very good stuff, different league to normal epoxy, and so it should be at the price, tho got this pack at a 3rd of the price and loads left.

brilliant stuff but as you say hard to remove use sparingly

The only one Ive used equal is Devcon forget the number. Fortunatley for me my previous employers used it a fair bit and their over paid profit grabbing contractors used to leave loads behind after the job, that used to get tidied away….Think I have 6 1kg tubs left, it actually keeps surprisingly well!

You can grind it. machine it, and scrape it.

Resimac is a cheaper alternative to belzona and devcon.

Fortunatley for me my previous employers used it a fair bit and their over paid profit grabbing contractors used to leave loads behind after the job, that used to get tidied away….Think I have 6 1kg tubs left, it actually keeps surprisingly well!

Never thougth about that - last hole someone made in my drill press table I preheated it and filled it with TIG braze - finished with a file.

But tapping the hole and threading something in it - like a big grub screw and then finishing with TIG braze or MMA Lincoln Reptec cast.

On big process plant shutdown its bought in “just in case” for flange face repair by the on site machining type bods from Hydratight etc…..cheaper and quicker than waiting for new super duplex pipework to be sought!

We used it for packing/bedding wear liners and bedding in mill table segments in the cement mills. Would have been better supplied in 25kg sacks haha
