Hi
I'm building an aircraft and the frame needs to be welded. I have no experience and would like to get a Tig welder to practice with before getting my CAA approval and then welding together my frame. The wings are all wood so the plan is to get my welding skills up to scratch while building those.
I've been looking at the RTech AC/DC 160 welder. It will be mostly thin wall chromoly tube but there will be some thin plates and perhaps some aluminium tanks etc. eventually.
R-Tech gets good reviews but is this just marketing? Would I be better with something else for this type of work?
