This last few weeks I've been searching for some heat resisting braid , so I can make my own version of a heat resisting pad that I can put on or take off a welding glove ..perhaps with industrial grade sticky Velcro .
Many hours later I've found this fibre-glass knitted / braided sleeving .. in various diameters up to 50 mm dia.
So instead of buying short life stuff for £ 13 or more each , I've eventually found the braiding in 10 mtr lengths at around £ 35 .00 . The saving long term for people who wreck the protectors in a few days could be quite considerable .
Have a look and tell me what you think , I think it can be industrially stapled up to make pads rather than hand sewn with thick silk threads which could also be big bonus for speed of construction .
