Beard brushes

My beard isn't long by any means, but it does get a bit unweildly at times and seems to want to grow in weird ways and my daughter's hair brush just isnt cutting it anymore.

It can be quite wiry at times, even after a wash with good quality products it's only soft for about half a day so after a brush that will hopefully tame it a bit as I'll be away from home more again and won't necessarily have a trimmer with me when living out of a crane/van, won't be an issue in hotels

I just use a normal comb if its long enough, otherwise trim it down to a grade 8 and it'll only need a monthly sprue up.

My beard IS the texture of a wire brush. When it grows out not saying I look a state but I daren't leave my hat on the floor or folk throw loose change into it.

My lad on the other hand is really dark like his mum and has a full soft beard, (again like his mum ). There's all sorts of weird beard oils & potions he uses.

An 8 is about half the length of what it currently is and I tend to keep it around this length as it covers some scarring and skin issues as it is.

I went years without a beard, shaving was usually a nightmare unless I used brand new straight razor blades and copious amounts of proper shaving foam, and even then I would get irritation and infection from eczema and the scar tissue although not noticeable would itch a lot. Doctor suggested not shaving as it happens and I have to admit, it's been much better since.

Currently trimming freehand but the weird way it grows means after a trim, maybe a day later a bit that looked neat yesterday has now decided to stick out which is really the only issue I'm wanting to solve really.

Seems the gimmicky brushes being advertised on tiktok and the likes but never trust them as it's mostly AI reviews lately

I tried beard oil but it just made it feel greasy and was a mare to wash out.

I do have a balm that I use, more like a styling balm but I only really used it to try and keep it under control, but it's like clay and again, a mare to remove

boggo comb if short, wide tooth if getting a bit of length, then pleat to keep out the grinder

A decent shampoo and conditioner will help soften the hair. A normal fine tooth comb to style it.

You can get battery/cordless trimmers. I use a battery Wahl hair trimmer for mine. Several sizes of height comb come with it.

Soon as mine gets to the point it irritates my nose, I lop it back to short. My beard hair will not conform to any attempt at training. It's like having pubes stuck on my face. Only reason I don't frequently trim it is because I can't be arsed.

It will never get long enough to concern the grinder...or the lathe

Currently using decent stuff and have tried a few, but if I wash it at night, it's wiry by the morning, when I wash in the morning it's wiry by lunch...if I try giving it a few days it just gets worse

I currently sport a long chin beard (think biker beard) anyway it should be twice as long but i keep it trimmed daily by use of the detail gas torch at work when ime bent over on my knees doing facia drip flashings...constantly stink of burnt hair.
