No idea if it's legal or not (Don't see why it wouldn't be thought, just have a bayonet socket outside?) but I think you'll need to drill the jets/nozzles out a bit bigger, I've got an natural gas Bunsen burner and the flame is massive on propane so clearly NG requires a bigger orifice than propane.

Flame difference may also be due to the pressures involved. Natural gas is supplied at alot lower pressures than propane
Someone in the know will be along shortly to give detail on the specific pressures

NG 21 mbar +/- 2, LPG 37 mbar. Yes NG jets are slightly larger than LPG jets though whether they would be available for your BBQ is another matter. It would also need to be installed and commissioned by a GasSafe registered engineer. Hope this helps.

You can get NG BBQ's, they are usually fed with self sealing micropoint bayonets, and there are regs on the external pipe runs and connections.
It's not always a matter of changing the jets as air ports and safety devices may be different, see if it has a generic burner that can be converted.
And (here comes the dull bit) it does need connecting and commissioning by a gas safe registered engineer (sorry)

I'm fully aware it would need to be installed by a GS reg'd bod. I've a few mates that are. However they didnt know what was required when I asked them.
Bit of a moot point as it not getting done now.
(Once upon a time, anyone could work on gas systems; you just had to be 'competent' problem was the only way you were deemed incompetent was if you blow up someone. I worked on plenty of gas systems upto that point, so are fully aware of the do's and don'ts. And having worked along side 'qualified GS engineers' since I can safely
say its a box ticking exercise)
