bbq paint

Hi guys, ive nearly finished a big bbq made from a big propane bottle and wondered what is the best heat resistant paint to use on it.
Ive got my eye on some rustoleum silver and black.
I have burned sanded down to bare steel etc and will decrease etc before spraying.
Also does the paint need to cure ? ie light the bbq to create some heat ?

Usually the high temp paints need to cure with lighting the BBQ etc.The paint is not very thick so any grinding marks show thro' I get mine shot blasted before painting and it leaves a lovely uniform finish readt for the high temp paint.

Thanks Gordon, can you only apply 1 coat ? I will have to spend more time getting any marks out of it,it ain't to bad as most of the coating came off, but i gave it a once over with a soft pad to get the stubborn bits off.

I stripped a cast iron fireplace last year and painted it with a spray on BBQ paint I got from Homebase - it was only about £5 a can. It gave a lovely even finish. The fireplace is ornamental and can't be used so I have no idea about heat resistance or longevity, but the finish was very nice.

I used some thermacure a couple years ago and it's still going strong. Brilliant stuff, easy to apply (only one coat recommended IIRC) and have had no flaking etc. it's the only stuff I could find that came in metallic finishes.
