Battery lead connector

Ive a tipping trailer for the back of the quad, powered by the quad battery. Sick of these pants connectors

What is your issue with them?, Anderson connectors are the default go to for battery connections used in all sort of applications.

Not sure how much difference it makes but I always buy genuine Anderson

Is the problem with the connector or the cable?
How are you attaching the connectors to the cable?
What size cable are you using?
I’m with @armalites when using these sort of connectors, genuine anderson only

Cables are crimped, not genuine connectors. Which could be the issue

Current employer uses durite ones, they are used to lift the double deck trailers multiple times, multiple trailers no failures with them.

Durite/anderson are both the same, just branding.
Although the anderson ones are normally cheaper than the durite if buying locally

Think, without being rude, that may be the OPs issue.

I’ve used Anderson / durite in loads of different applications for years and never had a bad one. Even had them work after they have been run over.

I've got a load of Anderson (or possibly unbranded Anderson) that I pulled off 8kva ups units.

I think I still have them. If I can find them you are welcome to them for the cost of the postage.

Thanks for that, but have new Anderson ones on their way. Supposedly here tomorrow by Amazon, we shall see! Think Ill solder them on, then glue gun the cables in.

Worst case, need to buy some more cable and small dinse plugs and sockets.

Think the issue is connecting* and disconnecting every other day!

So got back from the Sunday afternoon gentleman's club, to two Amazon parcels for me. Speacial day, most parcels are for the Mrs.

Think my issue is original connectors even though poor quality copies, is there too big for the cable, I ordered two sizes. Smaller 50amp ones seem far more appropriate to the stripped cable size.

Disappointing though the larger pair marketed as Anderson….are unmarked, so in my opinion a copy. Smaller 50 amp ones are branded.

There is a lot of fakes out there.

How are you going to attach them? Crimping is the preferred method apparently.

If they are the ‘fixed’ end - ie the end bolted to the vehicle, I tend to solder them.

Going to try and solder, but not sure my two irons will be hot enough. And have no lighter gas for my little gas iron. Having said that Im fairly confident the 50a are small enough diameter for my crimping tool.

If they fail again this is the plan in to the small compartment on the back of the quad.

You’ll need a torch in my experience.

Put the ends socket up in the vice, get some heat into them and feed solder into the socket. You’ll need a bit.

Keep it liquid and stuff the wire in. Watch as it’ll spit back at you

My tried and tested method! Done it that way for yonks.

The easiest get out is to fold the strands back on themselves, you might have to pare (corrected as spotted by seadog) the folded lot down.

They have to be a good snug fit before crimping
