Bath tap mounting dimensions (pitch?)

She who must be obeyed has decided a bathroom makeover is req’d.
Old bathroom was gold finish (old fashioned apparently !!) but now we’re going chrome finish.
Just changed the separate shower thermostatic mixer & showerhead. Next step is the bath.
The bath is in good condition so we’re just going to change the current gold finish combined mixer tap & hand shower with an almost identical chrome finish jobby.
My question is the pitch between hot & cold feed on a bath a standard dimension as were ordering the new fittings on the net & it doesn’t seem to mention the pitch of the new unit, suggesting to me it might be a standard size.

Sounds like you probably share my luck. As a friend used to say, with luck like mine, if you were in a marching band, you’d be the pianist.

Don't most taps you buy nowadays come with flexible pipes for mounting ease. That's been my experience.

Many baths now come un drilled as some are different I believe the Chinese made taps are all different, best to check at lease twice.

I've just fitted a new batroom for my eldest son.

New undrilled drilled bath and taps like this:



Centres are 180mm, which seems pretty standard, but the actual size of the hole also I drilled allowed for a bit of adjustment. It wasn't necessary in my case, but for rigid pipe installation it could be more than useful.

I also used flexible hoses though, to allow some wiggle room.

Bath centers are standard on 99.9% of 2 tap hole deck mixers, baths now come un drilled as its easier for them and it allows the bath to be used with floor/wall mounted taps without them having to do another range.
