This sort of thing doesn't happen to me very often but I've just picked up this from a buy and sell group on Facebook for the most bargainous price of.....£10!!
It even has the receipt with it for €196!!
Also bought a brand new McKeller (Focus) 450W multipurpose saw from the same seller, also for a tenner.
They say things happen in threes, a few weeks ago I jokingly commented on a funny typo in a listing on a photography equipment buy and sell group on FB and the seller commented back and then said he had a faulty lens he'd chuck in to sweeten the deal if anyone was interested.
I messaged him to find out what he wanted for it, his reply..."would £20 plus p+p be out of the question?"
£24.76 and an hour of my time and I have a perfectly working Canon lens worth the best part of £200!!
well done, the other day I bought FOUR brand new micrometers still sealed in bags in plastic tote boxes 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, 4-5 for £17 + pp!!
fast postage courier next day.
Can't quite match that, but a Bahco 7-drawer tool chest from a Facebook for-sale group, asked for offers and indicated they were looking for around £160 so I tore their arms off and offered £165. I know it's not quite as good a deal as the OP but it's less than half-price and brand new, only missing the handle which usually screws to the side for you to move it about and it will live under my workbench. Bought from a bloke in Corby who works for R.S. and can get this sort of thing at a massive staff discount. He was going to have it for his garage but the local scrotes had been at said garages' door with tinsnips earlier that week so he reluctantly decided to sell. Me happy, me got lots of tool storage now
Many groups are closed so you have to request to join before you can view and comment, others you can view but only comment once you've been signed in.
Either way, you have to have a facebook account.
face book groups for sale and wanted helps promote bent gear for sale as well as legit gear. the crooks know they have a sale for it if someone puts a want ad in
Far better than Gumtree, ebay or any other sites.
Most of the groups are local and collection only and anyone posting on there will have a publicly viewable profile which includes their location and photos of themselves so you're far less likely to get scammed than by some anonymous person hiding behind an email address or mobile number.
Had it's older brother... I hope not for you but it might not be quite the bargain you think. Mine kept blocking / jamming etc. As in every 10 / 20 nails... tried it all, stripped, cleaned lubricated, different nail types / makers etc.. too low a setting nail didn't go through, a fraction higher and it was leaving marks all over the wood...
Just couldn't get on with it at all, took it back an they gave me a new one, 100% better, but still crap... just used for basic jobs now, even then as soon as the stock of nails is finished, think it'll end up on the skip.
Gave up and finished the job with my mates air nailer, 100000% better, non marking, no blocking, just quietly got on with it, no hassles. The Rapid one was just a damm nuisance..... I hope yours works out better for you
