Evening All !
Was wondering if anyone uses carbide burrs for metal prep. I make gates and railings in my spare time and I use an angle grinder quite a lot for preping edges etc. I am looking at getting some solid carbide burrs (from Screwifx - made by Garryson). Does anyone use these? would you recommed them for such a use? being made from carbide I guess they should outlast grinding disks? Is it worth investing in some??
I have recently made yet another gate and this time incorporated some 'baskets' in the design. I have made a simple jig for holding the bar and the basket in place while I tack it up so it keeps is square. It seems to work fine.
Some pictures below show the simple jig - hope someone may find it useful?
Does anyone else have any other ideas for jigs etc for making gates and railings or are you all welding sills in cars???

PS the workshop is starting to get cold now - hate those dark nites!!
