A few years ago, through this forum I bought a large secondhand Sealey bandsaw - wonderful piece of kit, even as a just a hobby used it cut everything I stuck in it! It came with a blade, that I used until it become blunt and I replaced it (need to check where from, could have been Administer tools but was 14tpi as I need a "general purpose"). That did sterling service until it got blunt, so in the last 3 weeks I replaced it again. This time from Norfolk Saw Services, the description from NSS was"
and based on Vari Pitch tooth pattern "6/10 VP (General Purpose & Fabrication)" I selected 6/10.
So why is it whenever I start to make a cut and over the weekend it was 18mm x 1mm square box and 12mm x 12mm solid square bar that after just 2mm (or less) the blade jumps off the wheels! (Frequently!)
I spent more time yesterday opening up the cover and re-fitting the blade than actually cutting!
Is there something that is out of kilter on the machine (and I have changed nothing from the old blade) or can someone tell me what I need to adjust to get it to cut - I bought 2 blades (to have one spare) I have tried them both and they are both the same.
Getting very frustrated in Trowbridge!
Cheers
Peter
"This M42 Bi-Metal Bandsaw Blade is designed for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It has a vari-pitch (VP) tooth pattern which is used for a wide range of cross sectional sizes to reduce noise and vibration."
