so im in need of a new blade for my clarke bandsaw and i was intending to go for a bimetal vari pitch type one but after doing a bit of research they are about 3 times more expensive than standard blades, are they really worth it? i cut abit of everything but mostly steel just wondering wether it is worth going for the more expensive option if it will cut better or just buying cheap ones and changing them more often?

Cheap blades are crap! 
Get a decent blade and you'll be amazed how much better it will cut and how long it will last.
I used to use a company called Dragon Saws who folded but some of the staff went on to form Tuffsaws.
Give them a ring and tell them what you cut and they will sort you out with the correct blade.
