I borrowed a nice pannel saw of a customer to cut a bit of wood .the blade was detachable and he had a fair few spare blades the handle was moulded for a right handed person and was very comfortable pity I'm left handed I couldn't even hold it

I use Japanese style saws nowadays. Teeth face towards you so they cut on the pull stroke. This means the blade can be thinner as its in tension when it cuts, you have more control & can use more strength. If you have never used one before they are a revelation. Fast accurate cuts so clean they look like they have been planed. Vaughan bear saws are good & Lidls do Powerfix saws, they are cheap & very good, a rare combination, Ambidextrous handles too!
I have a bunch of lovely vintage Distons but these days they sit in my old toolbox never used.

Another vote for Japanese saws. The thinness of the blade leads to a slightly different way of working. Very useful.

Switched from a Disston with files + sawset to a Bahco about a year backas I was gifted it. Better cut, 45/90 angles on the handle and heat-tempered teeth. I would buy another.

I have a pull saw made by my grandad, he was a tool maker. Ive learnt how to sharpen it. It's much much better than anything else ive used

I'm a like surgeon with my circular saw, besides nothing a handful of 2" 10s won't fix

cowboy I run down the tongue with circular saw and cut across the board on the joist with a multitool saw as the blade is thin and doesn't cut in to the joining board like the circular does

Ah, Latin. Many a wasted hour did I spend in my schooldays, mulling over Rex Cogidubnus and his servus (whose name escapes me). Plumbum was always good for a titter but so was Metellas (metal ar53) and if you really wanted to get a snigger going it was hard to beat causas ("things", the root of 'cosas' in Spanish/Italian and 'choses' in French) - but pronounced "cow's ar53"
My Latin teacher, Peter Walker was one of the writers of the Cambridge course that the schools still use, so if you recall the servus diligenter laborabating in the culina or Metalla ambulabating around the horto, it was largely his fault
