Bad weather.

Just heard bottom road at Granton, Old Chain Pier Pub to Newhaven harbour is closed, high NE winds, high spring tide has the road submerged, hope its clear by 9 tonight

Been wet here for about a week. Few dry spells. Saw a rianbow on me way home, a rare one, full arc, and loads of colour, not just the top few.

Forecast for minus 5 tonight and 500mm of snow!? been snowing here for the last two hours, speaking to a mate in Aberdeen earlier saying it has been snowing since first thing this morning.

Its still quite warm down here in Wales BUT sure is on & off with the rain and is a nightmare doing my workshop, thats the point of the workshop though to get out of the rain! Gee....

Hellish returning home, sleet at work, progressing to snow further I headed south east, one of my lads lives a few mile further south from em, his missus phoned saying 5+" where he lives, with more to come..........

Forgot to add, 2 boats overturned in Dunbar harbour!

Well we had a power cut during the night,but not for long thankfully and we got about 4" of snow and its still snowing heavily but its meant to turn to rain later.

Which is nice!

sorry to disapoint you mate. But a knock on effect of global warming is the melting of the Greenland ice sheet which in turn puts vast amounts of cold fresh water into the north Atlantic causing the gulf stream to slow down meaning Britain can expected colder sh*tier weather in future! Its called climate change butty! Though spare a thought for the Mongolian herdsmen, they've just had the worst winter they've ever had (minus 40 on a good day!) and have lost most of their animals that they rely on to survive! The situation is that bad the interational red cross has had to get involved!(sorry this post has probly made me sound like a right treehuggin' do gooder)

Personally I think it is a weather cycle about time we had a decent winter. Joe the power went off here at 1.45am and is still not on glad I put in a change over switch when I built the house tho. New neighbours have just arrived and are moving in as I type bet the southerners did not bargain for this when they bought a house in the sticks. May offer them a cuppa.

Well I've come down with a rotten cold or is it man flu?

I wouldn't mind, but, I came through the coldest winter in living memory without so much as sniffle, the temp goes up to a balmy 6 ºC and down I go.

That is one of the Hollywood scare stories (Day after tomorrow nonsense), the trouble is for the global warmers that the latest NASA research shows the gulf stream has not slowed down. It just varies over the short term a lot more than was thought previously.
