B&Q Torq Tools 150 piece £80 bargain???

I got told about this offer that B&Q are doing,a 150 piece socket set reduced to £80.

So i thought i would go and check it out and after having a look i thought why not for that money.

I normally only buy quality tools but i have enough of them and it's nice to have a few cheapish tools that you don't worry about leaving in your car,taking down the breakers yard or using in the rain,lending to mates etc etc.

Has any body ever heard of Torq Tools or know where they are made (probably China)????????

I reckon you can't go far wrong for 80 notes,what do you peeps think?

looking at the picture the sockets look like the type that will split if you put any pressure on them.

i tend to find that people will keep borrowing your tools if you let them rather then spend their own cash even if they need the tool on a regular basis.

if i have to buy tools then so do they if they need them

I have had the occasional Torq tool, they are ok but you get what you pay for as usual, don't think anything has broken although not put to heavy use, they just have that cheap feel ....all depends on their use I suppose and B&Q are usually pretty good on problems.
Keep your receipt and at least you have a years use out of them.

As Justme points out, they are the same kits as Halfords are selling, but cheaper. Halfords ones come with a lifetime guarantee, so long as you keep the receipt.

They're good quality, and I've read elsewhere that they are made by a french toolmaker, but can't verify that. I have a halfords one, and my only gripes are the catches on the case, no t-bar, and no adapters to go up or down between wrench sizes. I have these anyway, but the kit could have included them.

I only know of one french toolmaker, Facom, and they are bloody good(and expensive). As I recall they bought up most of the remaining reputable british toolmakers(king dick/brittool, etc.)in the last few years.
