B&Q health and safety

Went over to the B&Q by me yesterday to get a sheet of MDF cut and the guy on the saw told me the cannot cut under 235mm wide now due to health and safety, I was after 180mm slices and asked how the 235mm rule worked but i got the repeat its to do with health and safety, Is this for real lol

The big one near me tried that.
I asked to see it in writing, explaining to him I was a H&S officer(Not 100% true)

He fluffed and farted and got a manager, who tried it to say it again.
I repeated my self, The store manager was called.

Turns out, some saws, cuts under a certain size can not be held safely.
I called BS and left.

I complained to B&Q and got a £30 voucher.

Eh. Pointless panel saw if you cant cut below 235mm.

it' a wall saw so the rip can tilt back into the blade as the guard is spring loaded and it could snatch on the blade. it won't thou if you hold it properly.
but it could and has done on me before.


#edit it' not a H&S thing it's a store policy thing so some nitwit with very little sense probably brought the rule in
