Then saw the link to the cycle looks like an interesting idea i wonder how it rides as they claim it only adds 2.3 lbs

I can not find any links for it but I think I remember Armstrong experimenting with hydraulic drive to the front wheel of their military off road bike, I don't know if it was deemed a success though.

iv got two armstrong MT500's il have to investigate!

Yamaha did the R1 and the YZ426 crosser both with hydraulic 2WD.

Theres also some diesel 2WD farm bike floating around too
