availability of 25mm mild steel tubing and prices

I am just pitching for a job, a large human figure, I am planning on using 25mm MS tube.
My usual supplier says they cant get any.
I have seen it on fleabay at daft prices, I would be after quite a few 7m lengths of it.
Can anybody reccomend a supplier and give a ball park price. I am after an idea of prices not a formal quote.
Typically I am just back from work customer need a price from me on Monday and everybody is off drinking cider and cremating burgers.

Parker steels website says £10.29 per 6-6.15m length for 1.5mm wall 25mm erw tube.

Last ERW I bought was 20mm box, cost just under £10 fora 6m length... I expect 25mm tube sous be very similar in price.

Thats helpful, I can base my guestimate about those figures and get some proper facts first thing Monday.
Last minuteism drives me mad.

Just found Parker Steels, looks just the ticket, cant get a price as I dont have an account. I am after 25x2mm, I am sure I can get a price first thing monday.
Prices from what you have said sound fine.

You don't need a account for parkersteel but when you go to the basket you just have to hit update for some reason then it should come up.

I use Hilmar tubes, they do both metric and imperial sizes, not sure if they deliver as they are only 10mins away from me

Some advice on Parker steels, beat them up! Go away, phone back and beat them up some more, go away again, go back tell them they are talking out of there a-- for price and beat them up some more........ they like it!

You can also try Hub le bass tube specialists.
Park side steel.
IS and G steel

literally scores of them out there.

Yell.com is a wonderful resource and search steel stockholders or you can also try non ferrous stockholders.

Working all weekend running a course i sculpture making.
Beat them up on prices? I will remember that. I generally try and get three quotes and then call back and see what happens.

I just paid £58 for 18 meters of 25mm erw tube but that inc having it cut into 2m lengths so it would go into the car.

I saw a regular at my mate's cider place take a sip, and empty the bottle on the floor. the second bottle has sat on a shelf for about 5 years, almost a shelf of shame, Copperberg, Savannah, Magners etc etc.
These prices sound fine to me.

i bought 25mm shs x2mm today @ £6.50/7.5m from celtic & some 25mm x2mm erw from hall & pickles for £13.50/6m.

I always used Adey in Loughborough for my stocks, prices were keen.

Mass produced cider is best avoided. Do love the Somersby ads for taking the p**s out of crApple though.

if its round tube inch might be cheaper, although that may well be what you're getting anyway (even tho you have enquired about 25mm)

They do seem to be the same thing 25mm and 1".
BUT, I have fell foul of Imperial and Metric equivalents in the past. eg 1/4" and 6mm, close but not the same. 13mm = 1/2" true, but that means 6mm is about 1/4"
My rollers are rated at 25mm, I will check if they will take 1" superficially the same. Ha ha ha.

Just checked with metalcraft, Ian fished out the original drawings on his PC and confirmed thay had planned on the rollers fitting metric and imperial equivalents, I figured being Yorkshiremen they would have planned for this.
But best to check.
