Autodesk Inventor - What I made today

It's taken me over a week, and technically it's not welding, but...

I'm laid up at the moment recovering from a hernia op, and I'm banned from the shed "for my own good"

I got a copy of Autodesk Inventor [1] and I've spent the last couple of weeks learning to use it.

I thought I'd share my first project, and I'll post up plans when it's finished.

oh, and btw - Inventor is brilliant. Well worth at least double the educational price.

[1] It's free for anyone in education - I'm enrolled in the OU, so I'm eligible.
Maybe if you have younger siblings/cousins/children still in education you could get them to get a copy and do your designs for you

I've been using sketchup for a couple of weeks before that - sort of an easy way to slide into it.

I know Autocad is supposed to have a really steep learning curve, but I found learning Inventor pretty easy.

It helps that because I'm on "bed rest" and painkillers which have *language - again!* up my sleep pattern - I've nothing else to do 18 hours a day :.(
