autocad/drawings

ok i need some stuff machining and i need to do a drawing its simple stuff and could do it by hand no probs but id rather do it on my laptop then i can play around with the sizes and do other things , so the question is is there any FREE programs i can use of the internet click and drag would be best .
if anyone offers to do it then dont be offended if i say no as i need to do more stuff in the future and really wanna learn myself cheers in advance

CADSTD is good. I've used it for years. If you get on with it you can buy the pro version. It's not dear.

You can get a trial version of any of the CADs from Autodesk, I dont know what there life is or functionality though. It`s a big file to download, didnt work for me, was missing something, but had a call from autodesk the other day and there sending me out a CD with it on. Followed by a rep (scary, i only wanted to try it out)

I've adopted it instead of Autosketch. It will export DXF, HPGL, PDF, PostScript and SVG.

It's a .cad file that you export as a .dxf or .pdf or whatever. I like it as it doesn't have too many bells and whistles. Having said that, I've not found anything it couldn't do. If you take Acad as an example, it does EVERYTHING, but I only want to produce drawings and .dxf files to send to people for laser or punching.

Most CAD programs have there own unique file type, but they should at least be able to import and export to DXF or DWG
