Auto darkening helmet "blacking out".

Gents, I have a Speedglas auto darkening helmet which I am very happy with. I have noticed that occasionally it "blacks out", the lens turns completely black and after maybe 1-2 seconds returns to normal. This happens during MIG welding. Can anyone suggest what is causing this to happen please. Thanks, Paul Mac.
