Which way should these pressed steel and plastic links go?

Flange side outwards or onwards as I have installed?

Genuine Audi links. Originals were the normal round bar type.

My Tiguan has them the way you have fitted them if that helps.

Seen those fitted either way round from the factory. I always fit them the way you have just because I think they look "right" that way

Yep, nut on the strut end is always in the channel as you have it, on every one I've ever swapped anyway

I'd fit them like you have - they should be as straight as possible?

Functionally I wouldn't have thought there's any difference which way up you fit them, cosmetically I'd fit them as you have with outside of U facing outwards...less likely to injure yourself when working in the wheel area

Car jacked up both sides at minute I guess that's why they're on an angle.

They are always the way you have them from the factory because it will be an utter **** to cut the nut off when its siezed !!

I misunderstood your post and through you wanted to fit the ballpoint on the other face of the mount :-o

I'm actually Asking about the orientation of the channel-like profile of these drop links. I know which way the ball joints go. Had to cut top joint on passenger side and lower joint on the drivers. Poxy stupid idea a torx fitting.

Shouldn't make any difference, but I'd make sure both sides matched.

My garage has just replaced mine as the top knuckle boot had torn. I tried removing it myself but the lower one, once the nut was turned the whole knuckle itself turned and the top one, the most awkward, was so tight that I could not get it loose even though the bar was 2 ft long. I let the garage do it. He cut them off and fitted the new one.

If I'm replacing links I just clamp a vicegrips over the boot and hit the nut with the impact gun, it'll shred the boot to bits but it doesn't matter. This type vicegrips are brilliant for it.
