Personally i would have nailed the hell out of them I really hope there caught.

My first thought is what were they gonna do with the bike once outside? modern immobilisers are near enough impenetrable, arent they?

That's just so brazen !!
Notice that during the punch up with the first thief, the other continues to push another bike out !!
Some years ago there was a similar incident at a local Kawasaki dealer. There was a delivery of new bikes and thieves must have been prepared. During a few mins when the driver went inside with 2 staff members for a cuppa, thieves used the shops forklift to load 3 new and crated bikes onto the back of flat bed tranny and just bu66ered off with them. They were never caught and the bikes never recovered !!

A sign of the times..they know there is little chance of getting caught and even if they do, the punishment is something they can take in their stride.

Still unsure what the plan was unless they had a van waiting, even broken for spares there would be a lot of moneys worth there.

Good ol' Croydon. Back in '94 or 95 i was working in a bike shop in Penge and we had half a dozen kids storm in one day, some tooled up. Fortunatly 1/ the gorilla from the tyre shop on the corner saw 'em and followed them in (there was only 2 of us in the shop), 2/ the were all front no cojones and 3/ we had red care. By the time plod turned up they were all battered and on the floor. Plod recovered a couple of meat cleavers, a baseball bat and some drugs. They were all under 18 and got the square root of SFA

BMW ones aren't even close... something along the lines of a blind spot in the alarm means you can break in without it going off and then (with 'cracked' diagnostic kit) you can code a blank key

Oh they were nicking bikes, scum then.
But soooo cocky.
A potentially nasty business for the guys in the bike shop, I see they won Man of the month in Superbike magazine and a bottle of posh Scotch, well done to them.

Sad but true story, I used to drink in a pub from time to time that wasnt the best for attracting nice customers shame as most of my friends drank there. This one lad spent some time at her majesty's pleasure for assault and learned how to steal M3's and top spec beemers, every time I drove towards the car park sure enough there would be some poor sods pride and joy in the car park.

Thankfully he got into narcotics and is now doing a long "holiday"

They went to the wrong shop, should have gone to the one on the hill, last tiem I was in there the 4 valve trumpets had just come out and they had
the upstairs showroom full of them[and a couple of classics], outside on the road were a line of the things. I still haven't seen one[tss was it?] on the road. Anyone could have pushed one away, the people down stars all
seemed busy.

Place in Penge, not richard Hackers was it?
I used to live in a squat in Jasmine grove and went to Hackers quite
often.

Nah, high end bicycles a bit further along Croydon Rd near where it meets the bottom of Anerley hill
