The gas gauge was set to 20, is that too high ?

fo you just have a twin gauge or do you have a ball in a tube type flow meter? I set my gas between 8-12lpm and have never had any problems

If your welding inside you want to set that to about 8 litres/min your just wasting costly gas at 20

Thanks for that, I was told set at 20 by the guy I got welder from, I'm just welding bits on the moggy in my garage, may have to push it outside at so e point to do some

If you go outside, you may need to increase the gas flow if it's windy, to ensure there's a proper shield of gas. If the wind is still, you can probably keep it the same as inside.
