Attaching wiring to metal panels

I have been asked to make some garden screens, these are being powder coated and will have box section frames. The customer is going have them illuminated
My first frame was to drill holes in the box and run wires through them. But I'm thinking holes will alow water ingress.
There must be some sort of adhesive thingy to attach the wires to the backs of the frames.
Anybody got any ideas?

Use stuffing glands box will need threading but properly installed should be the best option

Sticky pads and cable ties? RS do some good metal ones that are super sticky

or you can get all sorts of coloured plastic ones, screw in, sticky whatever takes your fancy....

You can get sticky pads that take a cable tie. They can vary on quality of the sticky bit though and if it's exterior they probably won't fair well. You could remove the sticky pad though and use a better adhesive. If they are in view they will look pants though.

You can get the sticky cable pads in black, use black cable and cable ties and it wont show. (Presuming the frame is black)

Get the sort with a hole in and you could use a self tapping screw or pop rivit to hold them on permanently and use the stick pad just to seal the screw hole.

Weld studs to the box section, and you dont need to drill. These sticky things have all been tried in the wet areas of the food industry and dont last..

These are good to hide wires in, used them many times both in doors and out doors.

unless you want it to look like an afterthought they really need running in the frames...decent glands and sealant should be reasonably water resistant

pre drill all the holes before you joint the frame , or mitre joint the frame , one small rubber grommet at the bottom to let power in , prob 12v dc from a transformer im guessing , feed cable round the inside of the box to where its needed , small exit hole and a grommet to bring cable out and straight into the lamp / light etc use heat shrink with the internal glue to cover any joints , and double insulated cable , with a small drain hole in the lower part of the frame left open , or an open grommet to stop the rust lifting the powder coat , jobs done , no visible wires or joins .

I've used them on the chassis of my hot rod, little black squares, with loops for the cable ties. I used a pop rivet through the middle of each one with no problems, they seem pretty tough.

they do re usable cable ties with a pop rivet hole all ready in them too.

Customers brother is fitting the lights.
I'll see what he reckons. The clip on cable tie things look ideal. They will be out of sight as it's going on a wall.
