I've got a small unused winch that I bought new and forgot about
It'll be ideal for pulling my mobility scooter up the ramps into the back of my Discovery but the wire rope is too stiff so I've got some 8mm synthetic rope off eBay -

It's nylon core with polyethylene outer therefore not the same as proper (expensive) Dyneema but seeing load will be rolling 150kg it's more than adequate.
I've read simply tying a look reduces rope strength by up to 50% so what is the best way of attaching a hook / eye to the rope I've bought ?
With Dyneema the proper way is splicing but that isn't possible. Is there a boating type know which will do the job ?
Thanks.
