That INV200 one is exactly the same as the 'Rehmann' ones on Ebay, I'd imagine they're all from the same factory. That seems quite a lot of money for a chinese inverter but they do offer a 3 year warranty on it as long as they honour it .
I have often wondered about that particular TIG only because that guy does offer a local warranty. I visited his shop once to "sus" it out...It was nice to see an established premise that looked like it could honour the warranty.
The guy was good to talk to - He seemed quite passionate and also seemed to understand the design/electrics quite well.
That ALU-PULSE 200 got me thinking too - it seems to have all the features you could want (as per most Chinese machines)
He sometimes lists them on Ebay at starting prices a fair bit less then that website lists them for..
eg http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AC-DC-PULSE-...oryZ3247QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
(He also, has 100% positive feedback.)
I asked about the difference between his (quite cheaper on ebay) "INV200" model and the ALU-PULSE. He mentioned the pair of output IGBT's being of higher spec (higher duty cycle etc). It has has up to 200Hz AC freq (v's 100Hz)
Make no mistake, it is "chinese junk" at 1/4 the price of a decent TIG with same features....but for DIY work and with the local warranty it sure has me tempted too - If $$$ was not part of the decision, I would love a Miller etc but even 1800 is a bit much for me to spend on a DIY tool!
Oh, and if you get one - I'd love to hear how it goes over the months/years.
i realy like the look of the miller dynacy DX just the duty cycle is a bit small
TIG Rated Output
200 A at 18 V, 20% Duty Cycle
150 A at 16 V, 60% Duty Cycle
140 A at 15.6 V, 40% Duty Cycle
100 A at 14 V, 100% Duty Cycle
Stick Rated Output
200 A at 28 V, 20% Duty Cycle
130 A at 25.2 V, 60% Duty Cycle
100 A at 24 V, 60% Duty Cycle
90 A at 23.6 V, 100% Duty Cycle
im also looking at the cigweld transtig 200 ac/dc which looking by looming at the duty cycle must be similar/do what the miller does? brandnew they are a bit pricey so im looking for a 2nd hand unit but cant seem to find them anywhere
