Ok, I know most newbies start off with a wood burner, so how hard it would be to fabricate something like this?http://www.kminb.com/8206/8227.html I was thinking of getting most parts from a flat roofing supply company. Some machines come with ceramic tiles, some just seem to have a bank of burners http://www.kasiinfrared.com/ .The main thing I need to ask is, the best methods of directing the heat downwards and insulating the top cover, to avoid it becoming a death trap so close to the gas cylinders?
I would be grateful for any other advice, as I am not an engineer, but would like to live a lot longer. Thanks in advance.

Edit. No there is no pikey in me, just fed up of repairing a long tarmac drive. Plus it costs about £6500 to buy and another £1500 to ship from the good old US of A
