hi guys and gals, i am looking for some help with a project i have been part of.
i volunteer at shed47 railway restoration group which is based within the Scottish vintage bus museum, lathalmond in fife.
we are in the process of restoring a steam locomotive and have come to a halt at the moment due to requiring some welding needing done, the job is welding in a seat for fuse-able plug to screw into, most of the metal surrounding the existing plug has wastage to the thickness and needs replaced so the plan is to dress it all out and weld in a biscuit that has been pre drilled and threaded for the plug to be fitted.
now because this is a pressure vessel it requires a coded welder to do the work, coded to asme9 or equivalent and able to produce papers to satisfy the boiler inspector.
i know this is a big ask but we are not a charity and as such have a very limited income, any money we make is from the six days a year we give break van trips down the small section of running line and from collection of scrap rail and railway items.
so if you live nearby or even if you dont and you would be willing to help us out with your skills please get in touch.
cheers .....mark...
