hey all recently heard of a welding cert called asbe 9 was wondering does anyone know much about it? ive heard its very hard is all and theres some awkward stuff involved but not much else any help would be appteciated. thanks

Depends what process, material type, material form, joint design, position you do it in

It's actually ASME IX.

Which stands for the (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).

Anything issued to ASME standard is subject to VERY strict testing.

Tolerances are little to none.

They issue all sorts of certs, ranging from basic fillet welds on mild steel plate.

To pipe certs for welding done in the 6G position.

You should research ASME and find out why the organization was founded in the first place.

Interesting information, and a must know for any serious welder in my opinion.
