Arrrrh Printer margins

I can't for the life of me, remember how to change the default margins.
ISTR it was in the printer prefs, but no...

Anyone help

In your document settings under format and page in your text program. In Notepad it's in file and page setup. Printer usually only has orientation settings.

I'm using A drawing prog. I'll try importing into word

In word 2016 it's in layout, set margins. But think about your printer too. Could save .docx as pdf which will resize a bit to suit print.

On mine if you try to set the printer margins narrower than the printer can accept it automatically defaults to the minimum margin settings. Having footers & headers set can also affect the margins settings.

My epson will print as a poster on several bits of paper that way you get all the image, granted you have to stick the pages together and trim off the excess but if needs must.

Different machines could have different minimum margins.

Instead of clicking print icon choose something like file top left then print then either setting gs or properties and choose fit to page

Need its drawn 1:1 and that how it needs printing.
I've tried saving/ printing as a .pdf. Din't work.

Same Printer a Kyocera Mita FS 1000+. Its on lpt1 at the moment and I've a feeling it was on the network last time I used it, so may have greater control via IP.
I'll also try .ps (PS board installed.)

I'll try and get it on the network.. (Grrr, do a job. make a job, as my dad would say)

Double check everything is set to A4. This includes page layout on your design program, the preferences on the printer driver and the printer itself.
Also in the driver see if there is a "get device status" this usually makes the printer tell the pc how it's set up and acknowledge's two way communication is happening.

In Autocad you can tell it to print whatever you outline ('window') on the screen, and tell it to print that at 1:1 on whatever size paper (as long as it'll fit), it seems to over-ride the printer settings. I'd be surprised if other drawing packages couldn't do similar.
