armoured cable

Hi

I have put some pics up earlier about my new workshop. I am going to put in an armoured cable up to it. I was told 10mm is plenty but is it a 3 core wire.?

It's going need to get 50m 6943x 10mm 3 core it's for running usual welder grinder and compresser . Take it I can just through it in hole along with my new water pipe?

There are regs about how deep it should be buried min of 300 mm rings a bell but I haven't checked the book for while.
10mm 3 core should be OK for a single phase supply if it's not to long a run.
I only have a 6mm feeding mine on a 32a supply and that's ok for the welder and lights etc.

Find the gas main, and route the electric through it, to save on cable.

i've seen a water pipe where someone has used T's and bungs to bodge a cabel in. the cabel ran down inside the water pipe, it enterd and exited through a tail of pipe comeng off each t that the wre had been bodge sealed into

Im planning on using grey soil pipe as an above ground cable duct - is there an issue with that?

I usually use https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/Charts/VoltageDrop.html to get an idea what cable is required.

I used 16mm as my run was 65 metres mainly underground, since my compressor draws 6Kw I wanted a decent feed, mind you it still makes the house lights dim a bit when it kicks in.
