Is it possible to put argon in a nitrogen tank or would the valve have to be changed? I have 2 nitrogen tanks that I no longer need but do not have a tank for argon. Thanks for any input.
That's what I was hoping. I took one of them to my local supplier and they wouldn't deal with me because it wasn't their tank. Gonna look into some other suppliers and hopefully one will work with me.
I've had these tanks for several years now so I'm not sure about a DOT date. We used them for our racing kart tires and the kids are grown now. I suppose if other local suppliers won't deal with me I could sell them on craigs list. Guess i'll find out tomorrow when I call these other guys. Thanks for your input bud.
I'm fairly new to welding but I think it's a 75/25 mix I read somewhere. Will mainly be using it on an old truck I'm restoring. Quite a project I'm undertaking but I look forward to the challenge.
When I got my first bottle, I asked for "MIG gas". The woman said "Argon", I said no argon/CO2 mix. "ok" When I got home, I found I had a bottle of pure argon.
