Hello everyone I'm setting up my mig welder at home for some light fabrication work from time to time. The welder is a castomag 180 and came with an argon regulator. I've bought a co2 pub size bottle which has a male type thread. I've seen adapters on eBay and machine mart sell one which allows you to use a co2 regulator on an Argon bottle. I found an adapter on eBay for my purpose which is female on both ends, they're not cheap for what they actually are!
Question is about safety will I be ok buying the adapter and running my argon adapter with co2 or should I buy a co2 regulator. The only reason I would like to keep my existing regulator is that it's a BOC unit and has a flow meter which is handy and is in very good condition.
The shop I bought the gas from sell regulators but had no idea that adapters existed and mentioned that they wouldn't be safe (a bit of a bodge in the guys words)
Thanks
