I use Cuttings garage in Catfield they are Hobbyweld stockiest and easy to get to off the Stalham bypass, prices are on the Hobbyweld website I believe, but around £28 for a refill.
You need to pay a deposit, then you just exchange each time you fill, no rental charges just a one of payment, think it is around £80 plus cost of fill, initially a few beer tokens but then just refill cost.
i guess it really does depend on the amount your going to use a year.
if your going to use it alot.... then the like of BOC hobbydeal is proberly best.
but if your going to use it now and then, then a rent free type bottle will work out best.

I got my cylinder from ESTS. I get all my new steel from them too, very reasonable prices and very friendly and helpful, they happily supply small quantities and cut to length too.
Ok guys many thanks what size cylinder are the ones that are around waist height ? And also which way do the female valves come on these bottle so i now when getting the regulator are they right out the top upright or to the side
Both will be fine, it's only a low pressure line that disappears into the back of the welder, mine has plenty of slack as it is capable of fitting a full size cylinder.
BOC are 3ft high, 20 litre 230bar size Y , on the hobby deal, a years rental and gas fill works out at £100
they are top entry, i think air products are the same entry (not 100% sure as never had air products)
rent free style pure argon i have (sabre gas) is side entry..
that is also 20litre size bottle at 200bar.
dunno about other types of rent free as ive never had them.
also if using flowmeter's then i would imagine they need to be fitted vertical to work correctly ?
