Hi i hope this is in the right place is it safe to use my bottle laying down as i am working on uneven ground and it makes moveing the welder very hard with the bottle chained on the back

But not with co2 as that's a liquid inside

Argon will be ok as it's just compressed gas in the bottle. However, this isn't something which should be done with propane, LPG and especially Acetylene as the fuel is liquid at the high pressures in the bottle and vaporises to fill the empty space at the top of the bottle, if you lay it on its side the liquid part can enter the regulator and cause all sorts of problems. This is particularly the case with acetylene which is dissolved in acetone. The acetone stabilises the acetylene so letting it escape is bad.
